Basement Floor Coating — Toronto & GTA

Finish your basement floor properly — sealed, decorative, and ready for everyday use.

About this service

A basement floor coating is often the most impactful upgrade you can do in a finished basement. Below-grade concrete is prone to moisture migration from below and condensation from above, and most finishing systems (vinyl plank, carpet, laminate) handle this poorly over time. A properly specified coating — epoxy, polyaspartic, or a hybrid system — is permanently bonded to the slab, waterproof at the surface, and will outlast practically any other flooring choice in that space. We moisture-test every basement slab before scheduling because moisture is the single biggest predictor of basement coating failure, and we match the primer specifically to the moisture vapour emission level we measure. The finish can be solid, decorative flake, or metallic depending on the room's purpose: subdued charcoal for a theatre room, warm tan flake for a kids' play area, metallic marbled teal for a home office with character. We've coated basement floors across every neighbourhood in the GTA, from century-old Toronto homes to new-build suburban basements.

Questions people ask

What if my basement had moisture problems before?+

We moisture-test first, always. If vapour emission is high, we spec a system that tolerates it. If there's active water intrusion, we'll flag that and recommend addressing the water source before coating.

Can I put furniture back right away?+

Light furniture after 48 hours. Heavier items (sofas, treadmills, dressers) after 5 days to let the floor fully harden under load.

Does it feel cold?+

Yes, same as any concrete floor. For basements where this matters, pair with area rugs over the main zones. We can also coordinate with heated-floor installers if you're starting from scratch.
