Concrete Finishes
Decorative Concrete Overlays — Toronto & GTA
Resurface worn concrete with a stamped, troweled, or spray-textured architectural finish.
About this service
Decorative overlays are thin, polymer-modified cementitious coatings that bond to existing concrete and give you a fresh, designed surface — stamped like flagstone, troweled smooth, broom-finished, or spray-textured. Overlays are the right call when the slab is structurally sound but the surface is tired: pitted, stained beyond staining, poorly finished originally, or just dated. Instead of ripping out and re-pouring (which is expensive and disruptive), we bond a 1/8-to-1/2-inch overlay directly to what's there. The design options are broad: hand-cut flagstone patterns, European tile looks, slate textures, broom finishes, or clean modern trowel marks. Overlays can be colour-integrated or stained afterward, and we seal every overlay for durability. Interior overlays last decades indoors because they're protected from freeze-thaw.

Questions people ask
Can you match a specific stone look?+
In most cases, yes. We have texture mats and stamp patterns for popular stone types, and hand-tooling can replicate most natural patterns. Share a photo of what you're after.
How thick does it need to be?+
For foot traffic indoors, 1/8 to 1/4 inch is typical. If you need to level a slab or hide significant pitting, we build thicker and feather edges to meet adjacent flooring.
Will it crack where the slab cracks?+
An overlay bonds to the slab, so if the slab moves significantly, the overlay will follow. For existing cracks, we route and fill with flexible polyurethane before overlay, which minimizes crack telegraphing.
